What’s in the box – week 4

Welcome to week 4 of our CSA share from Siena Farms. The contents of the box gets more colorful as the season progresses.

In the top row we have green oak lettuce, a bag of mesclun greens, a smaller bag of English shelling peas, rainbow swiss chard & broccoli.

The middle row we have (ignoring the beet greens for the moment) some more garlic scapes, a large bunch of parsley, a summer squash, a bunch of basil & some baby bok choi.

The bottom row has a bunch of rainbow beets & some lovely carrots.

The only items I know what I’m doing with at the moment are the peas & garlic scapes (they’ll go into an orzo salad as part of dinner tonight). Oh and the beets will get roasted & consumed. We’ve really enjoyed this Indian carrot salad last year so maybe that will make the menu. I’m guessing a stir fry for the bok choi & broccoli. More salad for lunch, probably.
