The menu this week starts with fish tacos for our friend Joe whose birthday was last week. We try to make this for him each year because it isn’t something common to New England and he likes it.

Purple Birthday Cake
There were 13 for dinner this week (9 adults & 4 kids).
I cooked 9 tilapia filets and all were consumed.
I made ~2.5 lbs. of turkey and about half of it was left.
Toppings included shredded cabbage, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, scallions, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, spicy mayo, tomato salsa, peach salsa and green chile taco sauce.
The cake was a very deep purple which Ted achieved with paste food colorings. I think he mixed royal blue and burgundy together. I made a simple butter/powdered sugar frosting for it. We put some chopped up chocolate sandwich cookies on the middle layer of frosting as a “hidden” surprise. Quite tasty.
