Saturday night – 01/25/2014

I was looking through older menus for inspiration and found the reference to Milk Pork from a past holiday party. My notes from the party indicated it was good though I didn’t really remember it so I thought I’d give it a try. It was worth a second go.

Notes
There were 11 of us for dinner this week; 8 adults and 3 children.

The Milk Pork was very tasty if a bit odd. The milk curdles something crazy during the cooking process in the oven. In the end it turns into a tasty sauce though so give it a try.

Ted kindly handled risotto making. All that stir makes my arm weak just thinking about it.

I had originally planned to make something with butternut squash however I discovered I only had about 1/2 of the butternut squash I needed for the number of people that were coming. Luckily I had some acorn squash hiding away that I could turn into a slightly different side.
