Our friend Gary suggested we have pulled pork a couple of weeks ago. As these things happen he was unable to join us the week we got around to making it. {shrug} It was delicious.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork w/homemade BBQ sauce
Potatoes with thyme and rosemary
Corn and Leaks
Homemade mustard dill or bread&butter pickles

Cookies ‘n Creme Pudding

10 gathered for dinner this week (7 adults; 3 kid).

The pulled pork was roughly based on this recipe along with a couple of past tries. I’m very happy with how this one came out; the pork was tender without turning to mush. My only wish is that I had made it earlier in the day so it could have had time to cool before shredding. For the BBQ sauce I made Michael Ruhlman’s Carolina BBQ sauce which showed up in one of the first comments. Sweet and tangy were the comments.

The dill pickles are about 3 weeks old and are starting to show some character. I’m sure they’ll develop more flavor as they continue to ferment.

Ted made dessert with homemade vanilla pudding and whipped cream plus Oreo cookies. It was a layered affair in a 13″x9″ pan. If we had made 2 pans of it there still wouldn’t be any leftovers.
