Saturday night – 10/17/2015

Fall seems to call for heartier flavors. I think each of the items on this menu pulled their own weight in the flavor category. They seemed to make a good meal as well.

Apple Crisp with toasted oats and pistachios

Notes
11 gathered for dinner this week (8 adults; 3 kids).

I think I bought around 8 lbs. of bone-in country style ribs. I made 1.5x the sauce. It worked well, with a bit of sauce leftover.

I used a whole box (16 oz.) of shells rather than the 12 oz. called for in the recipe. I wonder if I only had 12 oz. last time. 3 to 4 lunch portions worth are left which is OK with me.
